Free & Reduced

IMPORTANT INFORMATION-If you qualified for Free and Reduced Meals last school year (2019-20), families need to reapply and qualify for Free and Reduced Meals by October 12, 2020.  Children in families who have not turned in new applications will not have Free or Reduced meals starting October 13, 2020.  You may reapply anytime throughout the school year, but Free or Reduced Meals will be stopped on October 12th and will not resume until we have processed a new approved application.

If you are experiencing financial difficulties, the Food Service Department would like to remind you of the Free and Reduced Meal Benefits available for all qualifying families. There are so many students qualifying for free and reduced meals but not taking advantage of it. This government-sponsored program is totally confidential.  The software used for processing applications and counting daily student meals is private and confidential; as children receive their meal through the school food service line, there is no way any other person can know the financial situation of your child.  If you are currently receiving reduced priced meals and your financial status has changed, you can re-apply to possibly receive free meals.  A new application must be filled out.  If you would like more information please contact the food service office at 920-686-4773.  Applications are available at all schools, the district office or you can download it below in a pdf file.

Free and reduced price lunches and free morning milk (where available) are provided if your family qualifies based on family size and income as established by federal guidelines. Reduced price breakfast is free and reduced price lunch (all grade levels) is 40¢.

Tips for Completing the Free and Reduced Application

If you are currently receiving FoodShare, W2 Cash Assistance or FDPIR (Food Distribution Program on Indian reservations), the only information required is your child's name, the FoodShare, W2 Cash Assistance or FDPIR case number and your signature and date.

If you do not receive any of the above, your application must include the names of all household members and the current amount of income received by each member.  Also, you must sign and date the application and include your social security number, if you have one. If you don't have one, just check the appropriate box on the application.

Once the application is returned, you can expect to be contacted within 10 days.  If you are not contacted within 20 days, call the food service office at 686-4773 to ask about the status of your application.
