The Manitowoc Lincoln HS Coed Cheer and Stunt program believes in building a championship program by offering competitive practices, engaging crowd leadership skills, instilling the value of commitment, teamwork and perseverance. We strive to serve as a positive role model in school, at athletic events, at school activities, and within the community. The Cheer season starts the third week of July and runs through the last week of February. Athletes are placed on the team based on their ability, performance, and teacher evaluations during try-outs. Try-outs are open to all freshman, sophomore, junior and seniors. Each seasonal sideline team consists of approximately 18-22 athletes. The travel competition team consists of 12-18 athletes. Try-outs for Fall season are held mid April (watch for announcements at school and Manty LHS Varsity Cheer Facebook page) an organizational meeting is held with athletes/parents after try-outs. Competition and Winter team try-outs are held late October. Athletes can be on a sideline team ONLY and NOT compete. Per Wisconsin Association of Cheer/Pom Coaches (WACPC) ALL athletes MUST be on a sideline team to compete.
Practices are held 3 to 4 times a week for Fall/Winter Seasons after school at the Stangel Community Learning Center gymnasium. Practices last for approximately two hours. The cheer team sideline cheers all home football, basketball, select soccer and additional sports games at Rubick Field and JFK. The competitive team competes during Winter season at 6 competitions on Saturdays. Any athletes interested in the coed cheer and stunt program should contact Varsity Coach, Jessica Gomm.
