Chartwells School Dining Services proudly provides meals for over 3,700 MPSD students daily.

Nourishing students is not only our business, it's our commitment to the communities in which we serve.  Chartwells is a diverse family of dedicated food and nutrition specialists serving the academic community.  We deliver customized solutions that benefit our partners through innovative programs.

Family Account and Payment Information

Breakfast and Lunch are free of charge, but Al a Carte and milk payments are still required. Parents can make school food service payments through their Infinite Campus (IC) Parent Portal. The 'Payments' tab and tool provides Portal users with the ability to pay fees and deposit food service money online using a major credit card, checking, or savings account. This tool eliminates the need to send cash or checks with a student to school and provides parents a simple way to stay on top of school fees and services.

Breakfast and Lunch are free of charge but if a student chooses to take milk without taking a complete breakfast or lunch meal, ala carte milk charges will apply and the student’s food service account will be charged 45¢ for each milk. Al a Carte options are available at the Middle and High Schools for students to purchase additional food items with cash or from their lunch account. Parents have the option to complete an A la Carte Restriction Form to limit their students purchases.

For questions on your account, please contact Pam Kretsch in the MPSD Food Service Office at 920-686-4773.

Nutrition and Meal Information

Chartwells and MPSD are dedicated to providing quality nutritious meals that students will enjoy and choose to eat.  We understand that children who eat well-balanced, nutritious meals do much better in school. We hope you will encourage your child to try new foods and maybe even join them for a meal at school.

Menu Highlights

  • All breads, breading, buns, pizza crust, pancakes, waffles and pasta are whole grain.
  • Milk offerings at all schools are Low Fat 1% and Chocolate Skim.
  • Skim is also another option available at our secondary schools.
  • Vegetable and Fruit Bars-featuring in season produce.
  • We use the highest quality products to make fresh, homemade meals.
  • Recipes use non-salt seasonings and herbs to enhance flavor and lower daily sodium intake.
  • Students are required under USDA rules to take 1/2 cup of fruit or vegetable for their meal to be considered a full meal.
  • Serve food products and ingredients that contain zero grams of trans fat per serving.
  • Menus by age group to assure that students receive age-appropriate portions and nutrients.
  • Low fat meats are on the menu
  • Al a Carte options are available at the Middle and High Schools for students to purchase additional food items with cash or from their lunch account. Parents have the option to complete an A la Carte Restriction Form to limit their students purchases.

Offer vs Serve and what constitutes a full meal

Offer versus Serve (OVS) is a provision in the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program that allows students to decline some of the food offered.  Click here to see the OVS Minimum Daily Requirements.

At lunch, schools must offer all five required food components in at least the minimum required amounts.  Of these, students must take at least three of offerings and one of those must be at least a 1/2 cup of either a fruit or a vegetable.

The components are:

1.) meat/meat alternates
2.) grains
3.) fruit
4.) vegetables
5.) milk

At breakfast, schools must offer three required food components in at least the minimum required amounts.  Of these, students must take four food items.  The components are:

1.) grains (with optional meat/meat alternates)
2.) juice/fruit/vegetable
3.) milk

Special Dietary Needs

Don't keep quiet about food allergies or special dietary needs...

If your child has a disability or special dietary restriction, please let us know by completing a Dietary Restrictions Form, have it signed by a medical authority and return it to the Food Service Office located at the MPSD District Office at  2902 Lindbergh Drive.

We keep track of every ingredient in every food we serve.  At the elementary schools, food service personnel make it their business to know each child's special needs and serve them accordingly.  At the middle and senior high schools, the cashier's computer has all documented student allergies and needs posted on the student's account.  The cashier can then verify if the student has an off-limits food on their tray.

We provide nutritional and safe options for students who are allergic to wheat, red dye, peanuts and lactose.  We can screen  for other allergies too...but only when we know about them.

Thank you for helping us help keep your child safe.
