Graduating from UW- Milwaukee with 3 years experience in Intensive Care nursing, and experience in health care for cognitively delayed children, I returned to my hometown to be a school nurse. My family, like yours, is the backbone & pride of my being. My husband Steve, 4 grown children, their spouses and 4 grandchildren deeply root and support my well being.
It has been an outstanding privilege as well as a tremendous professional growth opportunity to serve the children, their families & staff in the Manitowoc Public Schools as your School Nurse since 1977. With early beginnings in the special education program, school nursing opportunities soon evolved into the multifaceted approach by assisting all students, ages 3-21 yrs, during their school day. Meeting the consistently changing & challenging health issues to assure that children are healthy in school will only optimize learning and assure daily attendance. This role has provided me with passion, inspiration, empathy and loyalty to MPSD healthy learners.
When I am not rooting for the Packers, Badgers, Brewers, Duke Blue Devils and LHS Ships, I visit the Wellness Center to enjoy Zumba and Step classes or look forward to our cottage in Door County. When I take the time to sit, I will read for my Book Club, knit, create craft projects and make lists of things I want to do ! Consistent priority though, is my precious family and grandchildren.
My "Bucket List" includes a medical mission trip to South America with Dr. Campbell’s team, climbing the Mountains in Park City, Utah, assisting my son with his Youth Project in Eldoret, Kenya, completing a 5 K walk/run with my Ironman children and simply enjoying all the blessings that I have been gifted.

Unique to Pediatric Nursing is the challenging opportunity to care for children who have cardiac, neurological, respiratory, hematologic, endocrine, oncology needs. What I love most about having Pediatric Nursing choose me, is that regardless of the health issue each student is dealing with, I need to be prepared for it! I also am encouraged and energized with student’s resilient attitude towards illness and chronic health conditions. I enjoy forming trusting relationships with my students and their families to tackle challenges relating to their overall health and wellness. Coming from a background in hospital and clinic nursing in the Pediatric and Pediatric Intensive Care settings, has helped me gain skill and experience to advocate for my student’s health needs allowing them to have a successful academic experience despite their health challenges.
I am proud to have grown up in the Lakeshore community and to give of my time and talent to the families that call Manitowoc Public School District home. I enjoy continuing my Nursing education and experiences to stay on top of my ever changing field. I share each day with my Husband and 3 children. Our family enjoys camping throughout Wisconsin, cheering on each other at sporting events and trying new things.

I am a lifelong resident of Manitowoc county, having grown up in Two Rivers. I graduated from nursing school in 1997. I was employed at Aurora since that time in various different nursing positions. I began my career as a hospital nurse working with adult and pediatric patients who had acute medical problems or recently had surgery. I then worked a majority of my nursing career as a clinic nurse (family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics, gastrointestinal and hepatology, infectious disease, and urgent care). I have also worked as a homecare and hospice nurse and in cardiac rehabilitation and at the pacemaker clinic. I began school nursing in 2012. I sincerely love working with the children in the school district.
I reside in Manitowoc and am married with three children. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, walking, biking, traveling and reading.
